A tiny beacon... with bacon

If you are ever in or near Leesburg, Florida (and I pray you never have to be) You will soon find there is not much to offer except drug busts, retired crabby New Yorkers, sweltering humidity, and the annual Bike Fest. That is, Hog Bikes, not Schwinn... Anyway, amidst a dank, below satisfactory infrastructure and an education system on a steep downward spiral, -Oh and a general xenophobia, there is a small ray of hope, in the form of comfort food.

Located off Highway 441 next to the Lake Square Mall (not much of a mall) and wedged between a Goodwill and a Publix, there is a mom and pop pizzeria named Hoss's Pizza (I know, too many of "s"'s).

In the Style of True New York Pizza, Hoss also offers sub sandwiches that are among the finest I've ever had, I recommend the turkey with mustard and all the veggies. The wings are not frozen or breaded like so many half wits in central Florida do, and the prices are exceptionally reasonable. Also, if you are like me you like a lot of sauce on the pie, or at least enough that you can tell it exists, and Hoss puts plenty of delicious marinara on there, and sweet but not too sweet. Oh yeah.

So if you have to be tortured in Lake County, as I once was, at least you can escape to a good pizza despite its awful surroundings. Props to Hoss's!
